If you stop eating, you will get fat. It seems contradictory, but it is not; Eating badly long ago after we eat more or eat between meals, which does not allow us to lose weight, but quite the opposite. Hence, 50% of women are overweight or obese, when 80% of them have dieted at some point.
The ABB Foundation -institution that tries to prevent eating disorders such as obesity, bulimia or anorexia-, warns of this all-too-common fact that not only frustrates women when it comes to depriving themselves of eating and, contrary to what is desired, end up gaining weight, but also endangers the health of adults, children and especially teenagers.
The explanation is easy: society shows us a physical model that does not identify with reality. We feel fat and resort to restrictive diets, most of them unhealthy, which we carry out without any medical regulation. We skip meals or deprive ourselves of important foods, which leads us to recover them within a few hours, to snack more than necessary and even to double the intake due to the anxiety derived from hunger. The result is clear: more kilos gained than lost.
That’s why the ABB Foundation recommends us to follow the following tips in order to take care of both your health and your silhouette.
Tips for not getting fat
-To avoid gaining weight you have to eat. The best way to maintain an adequate and healthy weight in the medium and long term is not to go hungry, make 5 meals a day and maintain a varied and balanced diet.
-Don’t skip meals. This triggers a series of reactions in the brain that cause the desire to eat caloric foods, such as fats and sugars.
Food doesn’t solve problems. There are many people who feed them in situations that have nothing to do with true hunger, such as boredom, heartbreak or sadness. That will not solve our problems, but will add one more if we do not control the weight.
-Ignore advertising and false models. The food industry gets rich by fattening and slimming people.
-Take care. In addition to a balanced diet, get moderate exercise daily, get at least eight hours of sleep, and do whatever it takes to make your body and mind feel good.
